A Southern Plus report said a 1,820-ton bamboo product shipment from Huaiji Junming, valued at RMB 9 million, was released under the new batch inspection and quarantine model. The reform is expected to shorten average clearance time by 70% and save about RMB 3 million in annual operating costs.
The Zhaoqing Municipal Government Office and Commerce Bureau visited Huaiji Junming to review tea-stem bamboo processing, export operations and business challenges. The visit highlighted support for a local bamboo distribution hub integrating planting, processing and trade.
Zhejiang A&F University's Bamboo Research Institute visited Zhaoqing for bamboo industry services and inspected Huaiji Junming. The visit included discussions with local leaders and entrepreneurs on bamboo processing challenges and high-quality industry development.
A Southern Plus feature reported that Zhaoqing's customs reforms, including batch management and remote inspection for bamboo, wood and grass products, helped shorten overall clearance time by nearly 50% and improve response speed for international orders.
The same report noted that Zhaoqing exported RMB 88.961 million of bamboo, wood and grass products in the first quarter of 2026, up 9.4% year on year, reflecting stronger overseas demand and improved customs efficiency.
