From May 24 to 27, Zhejiang A&F University's Bamboo Research Institute organized teachers and entrepreneurs to visit Zhaoqing, Guangdong. Led by honorary dean Professor Fang Wei, the team provided social service support in bamboo industry development strategy, bamboo forest cultivation, processing and utilization.
In Guangning County, accompanied by county mayor He Jiancai, the delegation visited Guangdong Dingfeng Paper Co., Ltd., Guangdong Yuhui Bamboo Fiber Co., Ltd., a bamboo cultivation base in Hengshan Town and bamboo forest landscape routes along the Gushui River.
During exchanges with Guangning County Party Secretary Chen Chaochang and other local leaders, Professor Fang Wei suggested that Guangning should strengthen top-level planning for bamboo industry development and beautiful bamboo forest landscape routes. He proposed three directions: using bamboo as a substitute for plastic to develop green industry, using bamboo culture to develop cultural tourism, and using bamboo industry to support rural revitalization.
At the invitation of Zhaoqing Party Secretary Zhang Aijun, the delegation also visited key enterprises in Huaiji County. These included Youzhu Bamboo Produits Co., Ltd. in Aozai Town, Jianhua Bamboo and Wood Produits Co., Ltd. in Huaicheng Subdistrict, Huaiji Junming Bamboo Produits Co., Ltd. and other local projects.
The delegation held discussions with county leaders, relevant departments and entrepreneur representatives. The discussion focused on practical challenges facing bamboo processing enterprises and possible cooperation between the university research team and local industry.
During the meeting, Professor Fang Wei delivered a special report titled Building Huaiji Beautiful Bamboo Forest Landscape Routes According to Local Conditions. He suggested that Huaiji should conduct in-depth research and planning for high-quality bamboo industry development, promote deep integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, and use innovation to support sustainable bamboo industry growth.
